Cup Mode | Official requirement: 93 OVR

Build A Soccer Squad Cup Mode route

Cup Mode is the current midgame gate. Build toward 93+ OVR first, then use five cup wins as the target for 105+ OVR Cup standout cards.

Check 1

93+ OVR entry

Use the official 93 OVR requirement as the gate. Do not treat a lower squad as Cup-ready.

Check 2

Balanced formation

Upgrade weak positions before entering repeatedly, because one bad link can drag down the whole bracket.

Check 3

Quest-funded attempts

Do quests first so rerolls and refreshes feed the Cup push instead of forcing paid recovery.

Check 4

Five cup wins

Use five cup wins as the checkpoint before chasing 105+ OVR Cup standout cards.

When should you enter?

Enter once your Starting XI sits at 93+ OVR and your weakest positions are not breaking the route. Entering early teaches the bracket, but winning cups needs a stable squad.

Rewards to chase

  • Quest rewards now feed rerolls and refreshes.
  • Cup games are one of the places where 2X Rewards can matter for active players.
  • Cup standout cards are the top confirmed chase path from current public text.

Patch notes that affect Cup decisions

Cup Mode Added

Cup Mode lets 93+ OVR squads compete in tournament play. This is the main new progression gate for players who have outgrown basic squad building.

Cup Players Added

After winning five cups, players can unlock 105+ OVR Cup standout cards. These should sit at the top of any current chase-priority page.

Premium Captains Added

The update notes say select 2002 teams can unlock their captain. This creates a separate completion route for players who like older World Cup squads.

Quests Now Give Rerolls And Refreshes

Quest rewards are more important now because they feed directly into better rolls and build attempts.

Cup Players Nerfed

The minor update says Cup Players were nerfed, while saved BestTeams keep old OVR. Any tier list should show the patch date and avoid pretending older screenshots are still current.
